In 1993, President-elect Bill Clinton decided to hold a free festival for the public on the National Mall. I worked closely with the organization hired to organize the festival and designed the program book. When President Clinton was re-elected in 1996, he once again held a public festival. I was hired as a freelance designer to design the program book.
Since 2002, I have worked as a freelance book designer for Island Press designing both covers and interiors.
I designed two Birding Sites Guides, one covering Eastern US birding hot spots, the other Western US hot spots. The guides gave directions to the sites and alerted birders to the most common birds in those areas.
For the America Outdoors series of guidebooks, I was responsible for layout based on an existing design. I worked closely with a photography editor and NGS staff.
